How to be Comfortable With Stillness

In this free mini course you will be guided into being comfortable with stillness.

Dear friend,

In this free mini course you are being invited to take a small step out of your comfortzone and into the deep calm waters of stillness.

Thich Nhat Hanh says: "Stillness is the foundation of understanding and insight." I am being reminded of how it is written in the Bible that Jesus said to build your house on the rock and not on the sand. This rock is Stillness. It is the formless. It is not the form with its chaos and noise, which we are used to.

If you haven't explored the realm of stillness then you are in for a treat. You may think that what you'll find is sadness, pain, fear etc. We believe deep down that we are unworthy. It truly is like being lost in the clouds. And it is true that these are things we will meet. But they are not the end. We are just moving through these clouds to the light that is behind them. The light of your soul is always shining.

The beggar by Eugene James

Sitting on a box of gold

Eckhart Tolle tells the story of the beggar sitting on a box of gold to explain enlightenment. There was a beggar who had been sitting on the side of the road for 30 years. A stranger walked by with nothing to give the beggar. He asked the beggar, what are you sitting on and he replied an old box. He said he had been sitting on it for as long as he could remember. The stranger asked what was inside. The beggar said, nothing. The stranger told him to look inside. With amazement, the beggar saw the box was filled with gold. Tolle says, he is the stranger with nothing to give you but to tell you to look inside yourself. As long as you are looking outside for scraps of pleasure, for validation, security or love instead of looking within for the treasure, you are like a beggar. Enlightenment is finding your true wealth within, in simply ‘being’. It is discovering a state of connection with something immeasurable and indestructible, something that almost paradoxically is essentially you and yet is greater than you. It is then that you find deep peace and joy.

In this course I am merely making you aware of this box of gold you are sitting on. It may look dirty, old and scary. But inside everything is untouched. It contains everything you are seeking for. It is the Stillness.

And it is this gold that is calling you. You may not realize yet that the call is coming from within. Meister Eckhart puts it so beautifully:

"There is a huge silence inside each of us that beckons us into itself, and the recovery of our own silence can begin to teach us the language of Heaven."

What is included

The main goal of this course is to get you to a place where you become more comfortable with stillness so it no longer is something you are trying to escape from. Rather, it becomes a place of refuge and of rest. It becomes a place where you can be yourself. Just be.

This course includes guided meditations, practices and inspiration.
